Maltese singer Mireille McKay has made Malta proud after winning the Grand Prix at the 9th edition of the Rising Stars International Music Festival in Kosovo.

The international festival was held in Gjilan, Kosovo, between June 25 and 29, bringing together rising musical talent from different countries.

Mireille represented Malta during the festival, performing on an international stage alongside foreign contestants and other talented Maltese performers from La Voix Studios.

Her mother, Josephine McKay, described the experience as a beautiful and emotional moment for Mireille and her family. She said Mireille could hardly believe she had been awarded the Grand Prix.

After receiving the award, Mireille shared a short message on stage, congratulating the other contestants and encouraging them to keep shining and never give up.

For her family, the achievement is a reminder of the importance of believing in yourself and following your dreams.
