Malta is officially heading back to Eurovision, with PBS confirming the country’s participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2027.
The 71st edition of the contest will take place in Burgas, Bulgaria, with Malta once again joining countries from across Europe and beyond on one of the world’s biggest music stages.
Eurovision Heads To Burgas
Burgas was officially selected to host the 2027 contest following DARA’s victory for Bulgaria at Eurovision 2026 in Vienna with “Bangaranga”, which gave Bulgaria its first Eurovision win.
The competition will be staged at Arena Burgas, with the first semi-final taking place on 11 May, the second on 13 May, and the Grand Final on 15 May 2027.
Who Will Represent Malta?
That remains the big question.
Current reporting says Malta will once again select its Eurovision act through the Malta Eurovision Song Contest (MESC), although further details surrounding the 2027 selection process have yet to be announced.
Malta competed for the 37th time in 2026, meaning the country’s appearance in Burgas is expected to mark its 38th Eurovision participation.
With Malta’s place now confirmed, attention will turn to the local selection and, most importantly, who will get the chance to fly the Maltese flag in Bulgaria next May.
