A familiar name in Valletta’s food scene is preparing to say goodbye, with Bert’s Take Away on Merchant Street set to close its doors for the final time.
The small takeaway has served generations of customers in the capital over the years, becoming a recognisable stop for anyone looking for a quick, traditional bite in Valletta.
Its menu reflects the straightforward food many regulars came to know it for, including burgers, hot dogs, nuggets and local favourites such as ħobż biż-żejt.
Owner Bert thanked the many customers who supported the business over the years, saying they had “become like family.”
For longtime customers, its closure will mean losing another familiar part of everyday Valletta — the sort of small establishment that becomes part of a city’s character through years of serving locals, workers and visitors.
An exact final closing date has not yet been confirmed in the information available.
