Maltese singer-songwriter Lyndsay Pace has secured an international music award after her song Fireproof won Best Europop Song at the 2026 InterContinental Music Awards.
The result was announced following the awards ceremony on 23 August, marking another international achievement for the Maltese artist. Pace had previously been named a finalist in the Europop category ahead of the ceremony.
International recognition for Fireproof
Fireproof will already be familiar to Maltese Eurovision followers. Pace entered the song in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2024 selection process, performing it during the first semi-final in October 2023.
The track has now gone from a Maltese competition entry to an international award winner, taking the Best Europop Song honour at the 2026 InterContinental Music Awards.
Pace described winning with Fireproof as an important moment in her musical journey and said the recognition has given her further motivation to continue pursuing her music.
Another milestone in a long-running music career
Pace has been active on the Maltese music scene for years, with a career spanning solo releases, television appearances, local competitions and international projects.
She was previously part of the girl group Xtreme during the first season of X Factor Malta and released her debut album Dopamine in 2022. She has also competed in Mużika Mużika and made multiple appearances in Malta’s Eurovision selection.
With Fireproof now carrying an international award, Pace plans to continue working on new music, live performances and further opportunities for her career.
