Maltese actor Theodore Zammit has landed a credited role in Mutiny, the new action thriller starring Jason Statham and partly filmed in Malta.

Zammit is credited as a Navy SEAL in the film, adding a local face to an international production that made use of Malta as one of its filming locations.

A Maltese connection to Statham’s latest film

Mutiny stars Statham as Cole Reed, a former soldier who finds himself framed for the murder of his billionaire employer. His search for the truth takes him aboard a cargo ship and into an international conspiracy.

The film is directed by Jean-François Richet and also features Annabelle Wallis, Roland Møller, Jason Wong, Adrian Lester, Ramon Tikaram and Arnas Fedaravičius.

Zammit’s role as a Navy SEAL is listed among the film’s credited cast, while the material supplied to Mela Bonġu says he appears in an action sequence alongside Statham.

Mutiny filmed partly in Malta

Malta also played a role behind the camera. Production on Mutiny took place in both the UK and Malta, with filming wrapping in November 2024.

The film opened in cinemas in the US and UK on 21 August 2026, putting both Malta and Zammit’s contribution in front of an international audience.

For Zammit, the credit adds to a growing screen résumé that includes an appearance in the television series Paris Has Fallen and work on other international productions.

His appearance in Mutiny provides another Maltese connection to a major international production shot partly on the islands, this time with one of action cinema’s most recognisable stars at its centre.
