One of Malta’s familiar pastizzi names is heading to London, with Sphinx preparing to open a new pastizzeria inside Tooting Market.
The Maltese brand has confirmed the move by sharing news of the upcoming opening through its own social media channels, bringing its pastizzeria concept to the UK capital.
Sphinx is coming to Tooting
The new outlet will open inside Tooting Market in south London, in the space previously occupied by The Lone Fisherman.
Tooting Newsie first shared images of work taking place at the premises and announced that Sphinx was coming to the market. Sphinx subsequently shared the announcement through its own channels.
For Maltese people living in London, the opening will mean another familiar taste of home in the capital, while Londoners will have another opportunity to discover one of Malta’s best-known snacks.

An exact opening date has not yet been announced, with the new Sphinx location currently described as coming soon.
Tooting Market is home to a varied collection of food and drink businesses, making it a natural setting for a Maltese pastizzeria joining London’s diverse food scene.
