Asia Psaila has made history for Malta after winning a silver medal in the Ball Throw, securing the country’s first-ever medal in the event at these Games.
Psaila produced a personal-best throw of 53.25 metres during qualification before going on to claim second place in the final.
A historic medal for Malta
The silver marked Malta’s first medal in the Ball Throw at the Games, adding another milestone for the country’s athletes on the international stage.
Psaila represents Rush Athletic Club and is coached by Antonella Chouhal.
After setting a new personal best in qualification and following it with a podium finish in the final, Psaila leaves the competition with both an individual milestone and a historic result for Malta.
