BYD has made automotive history after its all-electric Yangwang U9 Xtreme reached 503.17km/h (312.7mph) in Abu Dhabi, becoming the first production car to exceed the 500km/h mark. Driven by German racing driver Marc Basseng on 1 November, the hypercar secured two Guinness World Records, recognising the fastest production car and fastest electric production car. As highlighted by Turbo King in a recent Facebook post, the Yangwang U9 Xtreme achieved the milestone after reaching a remarkable 503.17km/h, surpassing its previous record of 496.22km/h set in September 2025. The hypercar is powered by four electric motors producing a combined 3,019PS (2,978bhp), supported by a 1,200-volt electrical architecture. Production will be limited to just 30 examples worldwide, underlining the exclusivity of BYD's record-breaking electric hypercar. #MelaBonġu
