Malta has celebrated a landmark moment in artistic swimming after Zea Montfort finished 6th in Europe in the Women’s Solo Technical event at the European Aquatics Junior Artistic Swimming Championships.
Published results from the 2026 European Junior Championships list Malta’s Zea Montfort in 6th place in the Technical Solo Women event, with a total score of 214.8850 points.
The Aquatic Sports Association of Malta described the result as a historic moment and said it is the highest-ever ranking achieved by Malta in artistic swimming at this level.
Competing among Europe’s leading junior artistic swimmers, Zea delivered a performance that secured her place among the continent’s top athletes in the event.
For Maltese artistic swimming, this result is more than just a strong placing. It shows that Malta can continue building its presence in a demanding and highly technical sport on the European stage.
The achievement also marks another important step for Zea, who has been representing Malta internationally and helping raise the profile of artistic swimming locally.
