Malta international Crista Chetcuti Ganado has signed for Peterborough United Women from Leicester City.

The move was confirmed by Peterborough United, who announced that the forward has become the women’s team’s third summer signing. The club said she arrives from Leicester City, where she helped the Foxes’ Under-21 side win the PGA Division 2 title.

Peterborough also highlighted that Chetcuti Ganado has previously been part of England youth squads and made her first senior start for Malta earlier this year. Manager Jake Poole described her as an exciting young talent and said she becomes the club’s first full international.

Her progress with Malta has also been noted locally. In April 2026, the Malta FA confirmed that Crista Chetcuti Ganado had earned her first senior call-up for Malta ahead of the UEFA Women’s European Qualifiers matches against Northern Ireland.

UEFA lists Chetcuti Ganado as a Malta forward, wearing national team number 13, with one appearance recorded in the Women’s European Qualifiers.

For Maltese women’s football, this is another encouraging step abroad. Moving from Leicester City’s youth setup to Peterborough United Women gives Chetcuti Ganado a new senior challenge and another platform to continue developing her game.

Peterborough said the player is looking forward to the challenge and described the league as competitive, adding that she is eager to test herself in her new surroundings.

Well done to Crista on the move, and best of luck for the season ahead.
