Two talented young Maltese musicians are preparing for an exciting international opportunity in Italy.
Kellyann Spiteri and Kurt Falzon, winners of the 2025 Bice Mizzi Vassallo Music Competition, will be travelling to Riva del Garda later this month to participate in the 42nd edition of the MusicaRiva Festival.
Kellyann, who won the Pianoforte Section, will attend advanced piano masterclasses with renowned pianist Maestro Roberto Prosseda.
Kurt, winner of the String Section, will take part in violin masterclasses led by acclaimed violinist Davide Alogna.
The masterclasses will be held at the Conservatorio F.A. Bonporti, giving both musicians the chance to continue developing their craft in an international musical setting.
Their experience will culminate in a concert performance on 25 July at Palazzo Martini, as part of the MusicaRiva Festival programme.
The MusicaRiva Festival has been running for more than four decades and is recognised for combining concerts, masterclasses, and cultural exchange. Each year, it brings together established performers, respected teachers, and promising young musicians from different countries.
Kellyann and Kurt earned this opportunity after placing first in their respective categories during the Bice Mizzi Vassallo Music Competition, which was held last October.
The National Council of Women Malta’s Music Committee said both young musicians have shown strong artistry and potential, and expressed confidence that the experience will further support their musical development.
The press release also thanked The Alfred Mizzi Foundation, the competition’s main sponsor, NSTF for sponsoring the winners’ flights, and the MusicaRiva Association for its hospitality and support.
