A structure fire at SkyParks 2 in Luqa was brought under control after firefighters responded to the site on Thursday evening.
According to Civil Protection Malta, the fire broke out at SkyParks 2, which is currently under construction. Crews from the Civil Protection Department responded together with the MIA Fire Section.
As a precaution, surrounding buildings were evacuated while emergency teams worked on site. Civil Protection Malta said that the fire was brought under control and that ventilation operations were underway.
No injuries were reported.
Firefighters from CPD Fire Stations 1, 3, 4 and 5 remained on scene, together with Mater Dei Hospital’s Emergency Department, the Malta Police Force and Transport Malta.
Reports also stated that Malta International Airport operations were not affected by the incident.
