Malta has been listed 5th in Europe for access to a public drinking water network, according to a ranking shared by Sostenibilità.
The graphic shows Malta with 100% access, placing it among the top-performing European countries for public drinking water availability.
While Malta is not shown in first place on the list, the 100% figure still marks an important result for the country, especially considering the island’s limited natural freshwater sources.
Unlike many other European countries, Malta does not rely on rivers or lakes for its water supply. This makes water production, treatment and distribution a major part of the country’s infrastructure.
