Travis Borg Stringi Fights from P10 to Claim Podium in France
Maltese motorcycle racer Travis Borg Stringi has added another podium finish to his 2026 campaign after placing third at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours in France.
Competing for Team Monlau Motul, Borg Stringi began the Moto3 Junior World Championship race from 10th position.
It was far from an easy starting point, but the Maltese rider steadily made his way forward and eventually reached third place.
A determined ride through the field
According to Borg Stringi’s account of the race, the two riders at the front managed to break away early and build a gap of around five seconds.
Behind them, Borg Stringi led the chasing group while maintaining a competitive pace.
His efforts were rewarded with the final place on the podium. Race reporting lists Carlos Cano as the winner, Fernando Bujosa in second and Borg Stringi in third.
Another encouraging result in 2026
The result continues a promising season for the Maltese youngster.
Earlier in the campaign, Borg Stringi finished second in a Moto3 Junior race at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. MotoGP’s official report confirmed that he secured that runner-up finish for Team Monlau Motul, while local reporting described it as a landmark international result for a Maltese rider.
Before the Magny-Cours round, available championship tables placed him among the leading riders in the standings. In his post following Sunday’s race, Borg Stringi said the latest podium leaves him in second place in the championship heading into the summer break.
That championship position is based on the rider’s own update, as the fully updated official table was not yet available through the sources checked at the time of writing.
Focus now turns to the second half of the season
Borg Stringi described the podium as a positive way to enter the break, while also making it clear that there is more work to do.
The MotoJunior series, previously known as JuniorGP, is regarded as an important development route for young riders aiming to progress towards Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP.
For Maltese motorsport followers, another international podium is an encouraging sign of the progress Borg Stringi continues to make.
He now enters the summer break with momentum, confidence and another trophy in hand.
