The Armed Forces of Malta carried out a medical evacuation at sea on Monday, 10 August, airlifting a passenger from a cruise liner located between Malta and Greece.
The passenger was suffering from a severe medical emergency and required evacuation, according to an official communication from the Armed Forces of Malta.
The operation was coordinated through Rescue Coordination Centre Malta (RCC Malta), with an AFM helicopter deployed to a designated rendezvous point with the cruise liner.
Patient Transported To Malta
The passenger was successfully transferred from the vessel to the AFM helicopter before being flown to Malta for further medical treatment.
After arriving in Malta, the patient was handed over to medical authorities for continued care.
