Malta’s young squash players enjoyed a successful weekend in Helsinki, with Tom Agius and Emma Inglott both winning their categories at the Finnish Junior Open.
The European Squash Federation lists the Bronze-level junior tournament as taking place in Helsinki from 7 to 9 August 2026.
Three Maltese juniors competed, with the Malta Squash Association reporting two gold medals and a fifth-place finish.
Tom Agius Takes U13 Gold
Tom Agius finished first in the Boys U13 category after winning all three of his matches.
The result continues a strong year internationally for Agius, who had already won the Boys U13 title at the Slovenian Junior Open earlier in 2026.
Emma Inglott Completes Her Medal Set
Emma Inglott also topped her category, finishing first in the Girls U17 competition.
Her Helsinki victory follows previous podium finishes reported by the Malta Squash Association in Hungary and Slovenia, giving her gold, silver and bronze results across those international events.
Fifth Place For Leo Ben-Ari
Leo Ben-Ari finished fifth in the Boys U15 category. The Malta Squash Association said the 13-year-old was competing in his first BU15 international event and was seeded second.
The three results add another encouraging international weekend for Malta’s emerging junior squash players, following Maltese podium finishes at other European junior competitions earlier this year.
