Maltese technology company eCabs Technologies is expanding its international footprint, with its ride-hailing technology now being introduced in Croatia through a partnership with Rijeka-based operator Taxi Fiume.
The move will see Taxi Fiume migrate to eCabs Technologies’ platform, with the transition planned in stages to minimise disruption for existing customers and drivers.
The first stage will involve migrating the dispatch system, followed by the introduction of rider and driver apps and further improvements to the service.
Maltese Technology Heading Overseas
eCabs Technologies grew out of the eCabs business established in Malta in 2010 and has developed technology designed for taxi and ride-hailing operators.
The Croatian partnership represents another international step for the Maltese-founded operation, with Taxi Fiume adopting its technology while continuing to operate under its own local brand.
Taxi Fiume CEO Dean Kovačević said the move is intended to improve reliability, reduce cancellations and prepare the company for growing competition.
The partnership will also allow Taxi Fiume to retain its existing brand, drivers and local identity as the technology is introduced and the operator expands across Croatia.
For eCabs Technologies, the agreement adds another overseas market to a business that started here in Malta before developing its technology for international operators.
