Second Lieutenant Russell Bugeja of the Armed Forces of Malta has completed the demanding 44-week Commissioning Course at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the United Kingdom, earning two distinguished honours along the way.
Bugeja received the Cadet’s Cadet Award, recognising his leadership, character and commitment to Army values.
He was also presented with the Commander’s Coin by Brigadier Nicholas Wight-Boycott of The Royal Regiment of Scotland, in recognition of his dedication, determination and ability to lead by example.
44 Weeks Of Officer Training
The Sandhurst commissioning course prepares cadets for the responsibilities of serving as Army officers, with Bugeja’s training focusing on areas including leadership, discipline, resilience and military skills.
His completion of the course marks the next stage of his military career. As a commissioned officer, Second Lieutenant Bugeja will continue his service with the Armed Forces of Malta.
