Young Maltese boxer Delson Grech has been selected for Malta’s national team ahead of the European Boxing U17 Championships in Montenegro.
Grech confirmed his call-up and said he will compete in the 54kg weight category when the championships head to Budva this October.
The European Boxing U17 Championships are scheduled to take place in Budva, Montenegro, from 1 to 12 October 2026.
Grech is an amateur boxer who has already been building competitive experience in the ring, with his boxing profile listing 11 fights and two stoppages.
His national-team selection now gives the young athlete the opportunity to represent Malta against some of Europe’s emerging boxing talent.
With several weeks remaining before competition begins, attention now turns to his preparations for what will be an important international experience in his young career.
