Two People Rescued From The Sea Following Tigné Dinghy Incident

The Armed Forces of Malta responded to two separate maritime emergencies over the weekend, rescuing two people from the sea near Tigné and evacuating an injured person off Marsascala.

Both operations were coordinated through the Armed Forces of Malta’s Rescue Coordination Centre.

Two Rescued Near Tigné

On Saturday morning, the Rescue Coordination Centre was alerted after a dinghy capsized in the Tigné area.

Rescue procedures were immediately activated and an AFM vessel was dispatched to the scene.

Two people were safely recovered from the water and brought back to shore.

Injured Person Evacuated Off Marsascala

A second operation took place on Sunday after the Rescue Coordination Centre received a report that someone required evacuation in the Marsascala area.

The individual had sustained a hand injury while using a harpoon.

An AFM rescue vessel was deployed and safely transferred the casualty ashore, where the individual was handed over to Mater Dei Hospital personnel for medical treatment.
