A person requiring medical attention after suffering from heatstroke was rescued from the Għar Lapsi area on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Civil Protection Malta, rescuers from Stations 1 and 5 responded to the incident and assisted the casualty.
A medical team from Mater Dei Hospital’s Emergency Department assessed the person at the scene before they were transferred aboard the Civil Protection Department’s RHIB Delta 2 to a safe landing area.
Transferred to Mater Dei Hospital
Following the rescue operation, the person was transferred by ambulance to Mater Dei Hospital for further medical treatment.
No further information about the person’s condition was provided.
The operation involved Civil Protection Department rescuers together with medical personnel from Mater Dei Hospital’s Emergency Department.
