Shawn Mifsud has raised €5,170 for Puttinu Cares after taking on a charity swim in support of the organisation.
Mifsud has now presented the full amount raised to Puttinu Cares, turning his swimming challenge into a significant contribution towards the charity’s work.
A challenge for Puttinu Cares
The fundraiser saw Mifsud complete a 1.2km swim from St Paul’s Islands to Gillieru Bay, finishing the challenge in just over an hour.
Puttinu Cares thanked Mifsud for the determination and generosity behind the initiative, while also recognising the support provided by his family and everyone who contributed to the fundraiser.
The €5,170 raised will support Puttinu Cares in its ongoing work helping patients and families facing cancer.
Community support making a difference
Puttinu Cares relies heavily on fundraising activities, benefactors and public donations to continue its mission of supporting families during difficult periods, including those who need to travel overseas for treatment.
Mifsud’s swim is another example of an individual challenge becoming a wider community effort, with supporters coming together to raise thousands of euros for the organisation.
