Malta Police Inspector Elisia Scicluna has graduated from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, after completing an intensive ten-week programme alongside law enforcement officers from around the world.
Scicluna was among 265 law enforcement officers who successfully completed the programme.
Ten weeks of specialist training
The programme covered several areas of professional development, including leadership, crime analysis, crisis negotiation and physical fitness.
Following the experience, Scicluna said the programme had given her a greater appreciation of different approaches to policing used internationally, while also highlighting areas in which the Malta Police Force can continue to develop.
She also noted similarities between practices already used in Malta and methods employed by law enforcement organisations internationally.
The Malta Police Force congratulated Scicluna on the achievement and said she had represented the force with distinction on the international stage.
