Maltese soprano and actor-musician Kacey Wadge is heading into the festive season with two major career milestones, completing her postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London and joining the adult ensemble of Scrooge the Musical in Glasgow.

Wadge will be part of the company performing at the SEC Armadillo from 12 December 2026 to 10 January 2027.

The production stars former Wet Wet Wet frontman Marti Pellow as Ebenezer Scrooge, with Karen Dunbar as the Ghost of Christmas Past and Still Game actor Gavin Mitchell as Jacob Marley. Thom Southerland directs the production.

From London Training To The Glasgow Stage

Wadge trained on the Royal Academy of Music’s Master of Arts in Musical Theatre Performance programme. During her time there, her credits included playing Marmee March and serving as Dance Captain in Little Women.

Speaking about the next step in her career, Wadge said: “Earning my Master’s with First Class Honours from the Royal Academy of Music pushed me to grow so much as an actor-musician. To go immediately from playing Marmee in Little Women to joining this incredible company for Scrooge is incredibly exciting. I’m so grateful for the journey and proud to represent Maltese artists on such a massive international stage.”

Before studying at the Royal Academy of Music, Wadge graduated with first-class honours in Actor-Musicianship from the Guildford School of Acting, where she received the Bice Bellairs Award.

Her musical skills include flute, piccolo and drums, alongside her work as a soprano and musical theatre performer. Her previous credits also include performances at Malta’s Manoel Theatre and work in the UK, including To Maury with Love at Theatre Royal Drury Lane.

Scrooge the Musical, created by Leslie Bricusse and based on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, will have a five-week festive run at the SEC Armadillo, giving Wadge another international stage on which to build the next chapter of her career.
