Six wins from six for Graham Borg

Maltese triathlete Graham Borg has continued his impressive 2026 season by claiming another Masters 2 age category victory at the sprint triathlon in Acciaroli, Salerno, Italy.

Competing on 3 October, Borg secured his sixth age category victory from six races in the FiTri series this season. He also finished 18th overall among 143 athletes taking part in the sprint distance race.

The result takes Borg another step towards securing the Masters 2 champion title for the Southern Italy region. He had already recorded victories in Mazara del Vallo and Reggio Calabria, which also form part of the Southern Italy series.

Strong performance across all three disciplines

Borg completed the swim in 11 minutes and 6 seconds before producing a 29 minute and 33 second performance over the 20km cycling leg.

He followed that with a 19 minute and 20 second 5km run, crossing the finish line in an overall time of 1:01:23.

That put him around two minutes and 30 seconds ahead of his nearest Masters 2 rival. It was also Borg’s second fastest sprint triathlon time of the season.

Two more races ahead in Sicily

Borg’s season now continues in Sicily, where his next commitments are the San Vito Lo Capo sprint triathlon and the Mondello Olympic distance finale.

Those races will also form part of his preparations for longer distance competition as the year draws to a close.

Borg is then set to compete in his second full distance Ironman event of 2026 in Oman, bringing an ambitious racing season to its conclusion.
