Triathlete Graham Borg continued his impressive run of podium finishes with another outstanding performance at FiTri’s Sprint Triathlon in San Vito Lo Capo, Trapani, securing his eighth age-category victory of the season in the Masters 2 (M2) category.

The victory also marked Borg’s third consecutive win across three successive Sundays in October, capping a remarkable month of competition.

Borg began the race with a strong performance in the 750m swim, completing the opening discipline in 12 minutes and 21 seconds to establish an advantage of approximately 90 seconds over his closest age-category rival.

On the technical bike course, Borg maintained an average speed of 36km/h, consolidating his lead in the M2 category. His performance also saw him climb from 31st position after the swim to 20th overall following the cycling leg, while maintaining a 30-second advantage over his nearest age-category competitor.

The final 5km run proved decisive as the battle for the M2 victory intensified. Holding his nerve under pressure, Borg secured first place in his age category and finished an impressive 22nd overall in a highly competitive field of 198 male triathletes.

This latest success comes just three weeks before Borg’s final commitment of the season: the Olympic-distance triathlon in Mondello, Palermo. He currently leads the M2 category and occupies fourth place in the overall standings of the Sicilian triathlon league, putting him in a strong position ahead of the season finale.

Goodluck Graham Borg!
