Neil Agius has announced that he will be taking part in Ngħumu Flimkien Għal L-Istrina on Boxing Day, 26th December 2026, swimming continuously for 12 hours at Neptunes Pool in support of the Malta Community Chest Fund.
The event, which will run from 9am to 9pm, invites swimmers of all ages and abilities to join Neil in the pool by registering for a one-hour swimming slot and making a donation to L-Istrina.
As Neil explained, the initiative is not about distance or endurance, but about participation and bringing people together for a good cause.
“Becoming a father this year has made me think more about the community I want my child to grow up in, one where we look out for each other and help when we can,” he said.
Neil emphasised that the challenge is not simply about swimming for 12 hours, but about encouraging the community to come together and make a difference. Whether by swimming a few lengths, cheering on participants or making a donation, everyone can play a part.
All contributions will support the Malta Community Chest Fund, which provides assistance to individuals and families facing serious illnesses and other difficult circumstances.
Those wishing to take part can register online for a one-hour swimming slot at Neptunes Pool on 26th December.
