Malta’s two Junior Eurovision winners, Gaia Cauchi and Destiny, will return to the contest in a new role this October, joining Keane Cutajar as hosts of Junior Eurovision 2026.
PBS has unveiled the Maltese trio who will lead the 24th Junior Eurovision Song Contest when it takes place at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre in Ta’ Qali on Saturday, 24 October.
The three presenters are already a familiar team to Maltese audiences, having hosted the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2026 together earlier this year.
From Junior Eurovision Winners To Hosts
For Gaia and Destiny, hosting the contest brings their Junior Eurovision journeys full circle.
Gaia gave Malta its first Junior Eurovision victory in 2013 when she won with The Start. Two years later, Destiny secured Malta’s second win with Not My Soul.
Destiny later represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021 with Je Me Casse, finishing seventh in the Grand Final.
Keane Cutajar brings extensive live presenting experience to the show. Alongside hosting the Malta Eurovision Song Contest this year, he hosted Isle of MTV in 2025 and has presented Malta’s national New Year’s Eve celebrations.
16 Countries Coming To Ta’ Qali
The trio will welcome young performers representing 16 countries to the MFCC, with the live show beginning at 9pm CEST on 24 October.
This year’s contest will be staged around The Festa, a theme inspired by Malta’s village festa tradition. Elements associated with local celebrations, including colourful decorations, music and the atmosphere of Maltese streets, are being incorporated into the production and stage design.
Junior Eurovision 2026 will mark the third time Malta has hosted the competition, following the 2014 and 2016 editions.
With Malta’s only two Junior Eurovision winners now preparing to host the contest alongside Keane Cutajar, the country’s history with the competition will have a particularly visible place on stage when Junior Eurovision returns to Ta’ Qali in October.
