It might be worth keeping an umbrella close this week, with isolated showers forecast across the Maltese Islands on several days between Wednesday and Sunday.
According to the Malta Met Office forecast supplied to Mela Bonġu, Wednesday 23 September is expected to bring isolated showers, with a high of 28°C and a low of 21°C. It will feel like 28°C during the warmer part of the day.
Thursday offers the best chance of drier weather
Thursday 24 September currently stands out as the driest day in the forecast, with partly cloudy conditions expected. Temperatures are forecast to reach 28°C before dropping to 21°C overnight.
The unsettled weather is then expected to return on Friday 25 September, when isolated showers are forecast. Friday will also be the warmest day shown in the forecast, reaching 29°C and feeling closer to 30°C. The minimum temperature is expected to be 22°C.
Showers could continue through the weekend
Anyone making outdoor plans for the weekend may want to keep an eye on the latest forecast.
Saturday 26 September is forecast to see isolated showers, with temperatures reaching 28°C and falling to 21°C. Similar conditions are expected on Sunday 27 September, with further isolated showers and a slightly cooler high of 27°C.
Sunday’s minimum is forecast at 20°C, making it the coolest night shown in the five-day outlook.
The UV index is forecast to remain at 6 throughout the period, including on the cloudier and showery days.
