Yesterday, Saturday, 7 November, Caritas Malta held a televised fundraising marathon, Maratona ta’ Mħabba, which ran from 11am until 11pm, raising a total of €376,501.
Held under the theme ‘Inħobbkom’ (I Love You), this year’s 12-hour marathon brought together the Maltese and Gozitan public in support of Caritas Malta’s work with vulnerable individuals and families.
The event was also dedicated to the memory of Monsignor Victor Grech, one of the key figures in the history of Caritas Malta.
Broadcast across Malta’s leading television stations, the fundraising event attracted donations from members of the public, with the total reaching €376,501 by the end of the marathon.
The funds raised will support Caritas Malta’s programmes and services, including drug rehabilitation, assistance for individuals and families experiencing poverty, and other social support initiatives.
