Triathlete Graham Borg has continued his unbeaten age-category run in this season’s FiTri series, taking his fifth Masters 2 victory from five races at the Triathlon dei 2 Mari in Reggio Calabria.
Borg competed in the sprint-distance race on 30 August, finishing first in the Masters 2 category and 13th overall in a field of 108 athletes.
Strong performance across all three disciplines
Borg completed the slightly longer-than-standard swim in 13 minutes before tackling the 20km cycling leg in 31 minutes.
He finished the race with a 5km run in 19 minutes and 20 seconds.
The performance put Borg five minutes ahead of his closest rival in the age category and maintained his perfect FiTri record this season, with five age-category victories from five starts.
Next challenge awaits in Serbia
The Reggio Calabria race also served as preparation for Borg’s next international competition.
He is set to compete in Serbia over the IRONMAN 70.3 distance in two weeks, stepping up from the sprint format as his international season continues.
