Malta has once again rallied behind DAR Bjorn, with this year’s Tinsinix fundraising marathon collecting a record €1,782,136.

The final total was announced following the 12-hour telethon on Sunday, 30 August, as supporters came together to raise funds for the organisation’s work with people living with neurological conditions.

A new Tinsinix fundraising record

This year’s result surpassed the €1,736,216 collected during the previous edition of Tinsinix, setting a new fundraising record for the initiative.

The €1.78 million total will contribute towards DAR Bjorn Respite, a project designed to extend the support available through DAR Bjorn.

The planned respite service will provide specialist short-stay care for people living with neurological conditions, while giving their relatives and carers an opportunity for respite.

The project carries an overall fundraising target of €6 million and is intended to extend the services currently offered through DAR Bjorn Żebbuġ.

The latest Tinsinix result marks another major contribution towards that goal, with more than €1.78 million raised in a single day through the support of the Maltese public.

For DAR Bjorn and the families who rely on its services, the record total represents another significant step towards expanding the care and support available in Malta.
